Olde Scotland Links Course Review

Olde Scotland Links Course Review

Olde Scotland Links Is a well maintained, beautiful 6,790 yards municipal course located in the town of Bridgewater about 30 miles south of Boston. The facility opened in 1997 and is a Brian Silva and Mark Mungeam design. Tee boxes and greens are is good shape for the most part aside from the occasional ball Mark that hasn’t been repaired. Some holes more than others. My favorite hole on the course is the number 15 (pictured). A 389 yard par 4, # 1 handicap hole from the tips that is about as dog leg right as you can get. Strategy is key on the hole. Large pond prevents players from getting too aggressive. A layup tee shot about 240 yards is the right play. This should get you into the fairway with a clear shot to the green. Anything shorter than that you’re left with the difficult shot of a blind shot over the pond onto a small green. Be careful tho, there is a small landing area between the water and the putting surface. Too short and you’re in the drink. Too long and you’re in a bunker protecting the back side of the green!
This challenging yet fun links style course is definitely one to check out. The quality of the course and the price just can’t be beat!
